The South African Secular Society have opened the secular avenue for both same-sex and heterosexual couples to legally marry in South Africa under the Civil Union Act.
By law, all persons wishing to use a particular celebrant services must be a member of the organisation to which the marriage officer is affiliated. In order to use a SASS marriage officer, both the MO and the couple are requested to click on the 3-month membership option. (Please note that this is a once-off payment unless either party wishes to retain membership of SASS.)
